About JEE (Main) – 2020
National Testing Agency or NTA conducts the JEE Main Entrance Exam since 2019. This responsibility is given by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, and the Government of India to NTA. Previously, until 2018, this exam is organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
NTA is purely an Examination-Organizing Governmental body that handles each operation of JEE starting from the registration process till the conduction of exam and its result. Thereafter the process is managed by the CENTRALISED SEAT ALLOCATION BOARD (CSAB)/JoSAA which includes seat allocation of students into colleges and relevant admission procedures.
After getting qualified in this exam, students are able to get admission in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. The admission process will be carried out under the rules and regulations decided by the Central Seat Allocation Board. Currently, students will be eligible for admission if they have at least 75% or top 20% on any board in class 12th. For SC/ST, eligibility includes 65% in 12th class. Students must qualify this paper in order to get eligibility for the JEE Advanced for the admission for the IITs.
