  1. Aryan Gupta (715/720) secured AIR 1 from Punjab, and Panshul Bansal (715/720) secured AIR 2 from Haryana.
  2. Kudale Shravani Krishna is the female category topper with 711/720 marks and an AIR 5 position.
  3. According to the NTA, 19 candidates scored above 700 marks, while 138 candidates secured more than 690 marks out of 720.
  4. The Top 17 candidates, each scoring more than 705 marks, belong to Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.
  5. Among the 138 candidates who scored above 690 marks, more than 93% were appearing for NEET for the first time, and nearly 99% belonged to the 17-19 years age group, representing 66 cities across the country.
  6. The NTA confirmed that more than 58% of the qualified candidates are women, while men’s overall pass rate is around 55.1%.

Tie-Breaking Rules of NEET 2026 Result

In the NEET exam, tie-breaking rules are designed to manage a situation where multiple NEET aspirants score the same marks. Tie-breaking rules help in analysing the toppers’ rank based on the criteria mentioned below-

  • A NEET candidate with higher marks in Biology (Botany + Zoology) is ranked higher.
  • After this, if there is still a tie-breaking situation, then the higher marks of a candidate in Chemistry are considered to decide the higher rank.
  • If the situation is still the same, then the higher marks of a candidate in Physics are considered to decide the higher rank.
  • If candidates are still tied, then the student with the lower number of in-correct answer of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology will be considered on priority.
  • If candidates are still tied, then the same lower incorrect number of answers criterion will be applied to the Biology section, which is considered the main subject in the NEET exam.
  • Next, the same comparison will be applied to the Chemistry section.
  • If a tie situation still occurs, then the same lower number of incorrect answer criteria will be applied to the Physics section.
  • By considering all the scenarios mentioned above, if a tie-breaking situation remains unsolved, then the situation will be managed by using a random process to select the topper under the guidance of an independent expert committee.

What to do After NEET 2026 Results Declaration?

Now that the NEET 2026 exam result has been announced, candidates with good marks can prepare to participate in the NEET 2026 counselling process. A candidate can actively participate in the All-India Quota (AIQ) and state counselling process. As per your rank, you can apply to these categories of counselling.
