It is considered as the most prestigious examination at high school level in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>objective<\/strong> of NTSE is to identify and recognize students with high intellect and academic talent and help them for higher studies by providing scholarship at different stages.<\/p>\n<p>The NTSE Examination is conducted for students studying in Class 10th only.<\/p>\n<h4>NTSE 2018-19 Stage-I Examination Dates<\/h4>\n<p>Examination in Nagaland, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Andaman and Nicobar Island :<strong>\u00a0<span class=\"bold\">03rd November, 2018<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nExamination in All other States\/UTs :\u00a0<strong><span class=\"bold\">04th November, 2018<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nExamination in West Bengal :\u00a0<strong><span class=\"bold\">18th November, 2018<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NTSE\u00a0 Stage-I examination at State\/UT level are advised to follow National pattern which comprise of two parts MAT and SAT.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"bold\">Part-I:<\/span>\u00a0Mental Ability Test (MAT)<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"bold\">Part-II:<\/span>\u00a0Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>NTSE Stage-I Syllabus 2018-19<\/h4>\n<p><strong><span class=\"bold\">MAT (Mental Ability Test)<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>shall contain questions from analogies, series, problem solving, reasoning, classification, figures, coding words, etc. The MAT test check the candidate&#8217;s ability to think, reasoning and problem solving.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"bold\">SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>shall contain questions from Science, Mathematics, Social Sciences (History, Geography, Political Science and Economics).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"bold\"><strong>Paper-I<\/strong> :<\/span>\u00a0Mental Ability Test (MAT)<br \/>\n<span class=\"bold\">No. of Questions:<\/span>\u00a0100<br \/>\n<span class=\"bold\">No. of Marks:<\/span>\u00a0100<br \/>\n<span class=\"bold\">Duration:<\/span>\u00a0120 Minutes (2 hours)<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"bold\"><strong>Paper-II<\/strong> :<\/span>\u00a0Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)<br \/>\n<span class=\"bold\">No. of Questions:<\/span>\u00a0100<br \/>\n<span class=\"bold\">No. of Marks:<\/span>\u00a0100<br \/>\n<span class=\"bold\">Duration:<\/span>\u00a0120 Minutes (2 hours)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>KVPY is a scholarship program funded by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India, to attract exceptionally highly motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and research career in science.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"bold\">The <strong>objective<\/strong> of the KVPY scholarship program<\/span>\u00a0is to identify students with talent and aptitude for research; help them realize their academic potential; encourage them to take up research careers in Science, and ensure the growth of the best scientific minds for research and development in the country.<\/p>\n<h4>KVPY 2018-19 Important Dates<\/h4>\n<p class=\"italic\">KVPY 2018 Exam Date :<strong>\u00a0<span class=\"bold\">4th November 2018<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nKVPY 2018 Written Exam Result :<strong>\u00a0<span class=\"bold\">December 2018<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nKVPY 2018 Interview Dates :\u00a0<strong><span class=\"bold\">January-February 2019<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>KVPY Syllabus<\/h4>\n<p>Since KVPY written examination is an aptitude test, there is no prescribed syllabus for the exam. The objective of written exam (only in online mode from 2016) is to test the understanding and analytical ability of the student. Students are tested for the syllabus up to class X \/ XII \/ 1st year of B.Sc. \/ B.S. \/ B.Stat. \/ B.Math. \/ Int. M.Sc. \/ M.S. as applicable.<\/p>\n<p>The merit list is based on 75% weightage for Aptitude Test marks and 25% weightage for the interview marks in the streams<strong> SA, SB<\/strong> and<strong> SX.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>What are SA, SB and SX in KVPY?<\/h4>\n<p>Since students from Class XI, Class XII and first year students in undergraduate program in Basic Sciences are eligible to apply for KVPY, the examination is divided into three streams:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span class=\"bold\">Stream SA<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0have students who are in class XI Standard during the academic year in which KVPY is conducted. They have to give SA Test.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span class=\"bold\">Stream SX<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>have students who are in class XII Standard during the academic year in which KVPY is conducted. They have to give SX\/SB Test.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span class=\"bold\">Stream SB<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0have students who are in 1st year of undergraduate program in Basic Sciences during the academic year in which KVPY is conducted.
